I’m Ronel Jordaan, the founder of Intaba Blue, a bespoke jewellery studio based in the picturesque coastal city of Blouberg, South Africa. My journey in jewellery design began at the age of 16 at Tygerberg Art School, leading me to pursue a diploma in Jewellery Design and Manufacture at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. Since 2002, I have been dedicated to producing exquisite, one-of-a-kind pieces for my clients. In 2022, I further refined my expertise by earning a Master’s in Contemporary Jewellery from Stellenbosch University.

With a deep passion for both creativity and craftsmanship, I specialise in designing and producing unique jewellery that reflects the individuality of each wearer. Every piece is a work of art—carefully considered, meticulously manufactured, and designed to last a lifetime.

Custom Design

I collaborate closely with my clients to bring their vision to life, ensuring that each design is as personal as it is beautiful. The creative process may involve hand-drawn sketches, computer-aided designs (CAD), 3D-rendered videos, and 3D-printed prototypes—all designed to provide a clear and detailed preview before the final piece is brought to life in precious metal. My goal is to create jewellery that resonates deeply with its wearer, capturing both sentiment and style.

I work with a variety of precious metals, including gold, silver, platinum, and palladium, as well as diamonds, precious and semi-precious gemstones, and high-quality synthetic stones. Whether sourcing new materials or repurposing existing heirlooms, I take great care to ensure each piece is produced with the finest materials and attention to detail.

CAD Sketches &
3D Printing

With a strong foundation in traditional handcrafting techniques, I have spent years working in small-scale jewellery workshops, mastering the art of fine jewellery making. Over the past seven years, I have specialised in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and 3D printing, combining traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology to create precise, intricate, and highly detailed pieces.
Using advanced CAD software, I develop accurate digital models that bring design concepts to life. Clients receive high-quality images and video renderings of their bespoke piece before production begins. In many cases, I also create a resin prototype to assess the finer details, allowing for adjustments if needed. This prototype can be reviewed via video or in person before moving forward with the final manufacturing process.

Depending on the design and materials, I produce the final piece either by hand or through Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM), ensuring exceptional precision and quality at every stage. This seamless integration of traditional techniques and modern technology allows me to deliver beautifully personalised jewellery that meets the highest standards.
